Moving a 4600 Manitowoc Ringer Crane
from Spokane to the Port of Tacoma
At AFF Logistics, our experience enables us to not only move big machinery, but also to move it as efficiently as possible. Take the 4600 Manitowoc Ringer Application Crane we were asked to tear down and relocate from Spokane to Tacoma—a distance of more than 300 miles.
Originally, the customer estimated it would require 55 full truck loads to move the crane. The move would require several specialized pieces of transportation equipment, such as a 13-axle transport trailer (lowboy) for the main piece (house).
By carefully examining the pieces to be moved and the equipment available, we reduced the predicted 55 loads to 45. Obviously, this meant significant savings to the customer. Moving large cranes takes a lot of coordination and planning. But doing it right also takes experience and unique expertise—the kind you’ll find at AFF Logistics.
