Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read load manifests and follow oral instructions to ascertain materials are accurately handled.
- Accurately verify customer orders and piece counts when handling inbound or outbound freight.
- Properly secure shipments from shifting during transit when loading containers.
- Verify presence of hazardous materials and insure accurate separation/segregation and placards are applied or furnished the driver if required.
- Verify origin and destination customer, weigh, and verify piece count and record data for Will Call manager for intrastate shipments returned to facility for beyond transit.
- Strictly observes work schedules and specific freight handling requirements.
- Move full or half full trailers from yard to recieving doors, using Yard Hostler
Experience:
- Minimum of (2) year Warehousing

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates vehicles in compliance with local and state traffic codes/laws and company procedures.
- Maintains a professional attitude with customers, co-workers and motoring public.
- Strictly observes work schedules and specific delivery requirements set forth by American Fast Freight and their customers.
- Performs pre-trip inspections on all vehicles he/she operates and insures any necessary repairs are completed according to state and federal regulations prior to leaving the terminal.
- Insures load is properly stowed and secured to prevent shifting or damage due to shifting during transit to the delivery location.
- Examines shipping documents to verify they have all shipments loaded and determine if haz-mat is present it is properly segregated/separated and vehicle is properly placarded in required.
- Uses proper equipment for loading/unloading of freight to prevent damage to product or injury from strain, etc.
- Knowledge to install and remove single and triple rail tire chains.
- Post Trip inspections i.e. Performs pre / post- trip inspections
Experience:
- Minimum of (2) year driving of assigned trucks, semi-truck/trailers in a local environment.
Certificates, licenses:
- Employee must maintain a valid CDL for the size of vehicle that will be operated.
- Maintain a DOT physical and furnish a legible copy of CDL and long form physical, current DMV report and Certificate of current Haz-mat training obtained within the past three years.
- Have endorsements on their CDL to perform duties of the job.
Applicant MUST include a Driver's Abstract, showing at least 2 years of CDL A driving history and a copy of current medical certification before they will be considered for an interview.

- Ability to block and brace freight
- Maximize flatbed load space
- Work in both hot and cold weather conditions
- Regularly throw cargo straps over loads in excess of 13’6” in height.
- Throw 3/8 tie down chain onto flat and secure steel and other machinery.
- Use a load bar to secure cargo straps and chain binders for tie down chain, often requiring reaching with arms extended overhead to pull down on load bar.
Experience:
- Minimum of (1) year in a Freight Yard
