About Logistics

Providing products and services where needed can be difficult to achieve.  Often complex information, warehousing, loading must be managed while geographical obstacles are navigated, all within a strict budget and demanding timetable. 

Logistics as a business concept developed in the 1950s as globalization in supply chains were increasingly in demand.  Logistics in practice has existed for centuries, from the Greeks, Romans, Chinese and many others who developed transportation and distribution methods primarily for military use but also for trade.

For business, the focus of logistics covers the flow from supplier to the consumer.  Managing logistics requires experience and knowledge of organizing, purchasing, transportation, warehousing and planning so that the coordination of resources can be optimized and that projects can succeed.
