Dear Valued Customer,
We have been notified by our water carriers of service delays which will impact current sailings due to severe winter weather. For further details please see below:
Please be advised that a major winter storm system has developed in the Gulf of Alaska, bringing with it hurricane-force winds and 40-45′ seas. Vessels this week have had to adjust course and speed accordingly and this is expected to affect arrivals as follows:
Matson Kodiak – MKD098N
Matson Kodiak departed Tacoma on Wednesday as scheduled, but has been slowed by weather en route. Based on the current weather outlook, ETA Anchorage is 0800 Tuesday, December 18.
To restore schedule integrity, MKD098S will bypass Kodiak and return directly to Tacoma from Anchorage. Kodiak cargo on the MKD098 will be relayed to MTC096 for furtherance to Kodiak.
Matson Tacoma- MTC096N
Matson Tacoma is expected to encounter the same major storm system. ETA Anchorage is currently 0700 Wednesday, December 19.
MTC096S will call on Kodiak and Dutch Harbor prior to returning to Tacoma.
